Are you getting enough... help and advice?

It doesn’t matter how old – or young– you are; love, sex, and relationships can be the best – and they can be a minefield.undefined So if it occasionally goes pear shaped, then talking about your feelings and worries with someone can help.Try and find a person you can trust who knows their stuff. Sometimes it’s difficult to talk to people you know, and sometimes you’ll need a trained sexual health professional anyway.

  • There are agencies locally where people can give you confidential, friendly advice and information (and will help even if you’re under 16).
  • Some also provide a service like testing for sexually transmitted infections or pregnancy, and will give you condoms.
  • All these services are available free, and are there to listen to you, not to tell.

If a service says it’s confidential it means it won’t pass on information to anyone else without your knowledge and agreement. It would only be necessary to break confidentiality if your safety or someone else’s was at great risk.

Finding services

If you want information about any sexual health agency, here in Norfolk or anywhere else in the UK (like if you were away from home), just call someone at NHS Direct on 0845 46 47, or Sexwise on 0800 28 29 30. They can tell you an agency's phone numbers, opening hours, and what they can do for you.

Or you can download the latest Norfolk Young People’s Sex Directory which has most of the information you need to choose the agency that’s best for you.
